Sled Shop
Students at Galena schools who are interested in repairing, maintaining, and driving snow machines have the opportunity to participate in the Sled Shop. The Sled Shop is a workshop on the GILA campus complete with tools and parts to repair, maintain, and customize snow machines of all makes and models. The Sled Shop is under the supervision of Gunnar Johnson. Gunnar works as a Resident Advisor at the Ptarmigan Hall student residence and he has extensive experience repairing and operating snow machines. Gunnar learned his trade working in his grandfather Harold Johnson's power sports business in Anchorage, Alaska.
Students in the Sled Shop take their sleds out on treks exploring the back-country surrounding Galena.
