Mr. Campbell, School Counselor

I am Mr. Gilbert Campbell.  I grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska.  I moved up from the states when I was very young and have come to enjoy the “Alaskan” lifestyle.  I am married to a lovely lady and have four children; two boys and two girls.  We have two family dogs, Gizmo (a mutt who barks like a big dog) and Miss Mae (a registered apricot poodle).

In the past I have worked in several villages in the state as a school counselor.  I worked in Tuluksak (in the Kuskokwim river area), Huslia, Hughes, Allakaket, Bettles, and Tanana.  I am also an officer for the 168th Air Refueling Wing (Air National Guard) out of Eielson.  The last three years I have been working for the Alaska Army National Guard at Fort Richardson.  For the Guard I have traveled to many villages either by commercial plane or military helicopter.

I am happy to be here and look forward to getting to know the students that attend the GILA from various locations throughout Alaska.   I am also looking forward to working with the talented faculty and staff here in Galena.
