GILA students can choose from a wealth of activities in the dorms, at the gym, or in the community.

All GILA students are eligible to play in all sports with the Galena Hawks. The school offers cross-country, volleyball, cross-country skiing, and basketball. Students from Galena have attended the Native Youth Olympics and the Arctic Winter Games. There is also a gym, weight room, and raquetball court near the residence hall on the GILA campus. Residence hall staff work hard to provide a variety of games, activities, and special events to pique the interest of students.
