Stephen Meaney – Resident Advisor

Stephen Meaney is one of the Resident Advisors working on the boys’ floor. He graduated from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois this past spring with a BA in Biology. Steve was born and raised in the village of Downers Grove, Illinois. He is the youngest of four and comes from a family of literature lovers. This comes as no surprise considering the fact that both of his parents received their master’s degrees in English, and first met each other in a library. Though Steve enjoys reading as well, his other passions include games and music. He played the euphonium, trombone, and trumpet in several ensembles throughout both his high school and college careers, and has even tried singing and composing music. Steve is an avid player of many different types of games, including board games, card games, role-playing games, and especially videogames. In college, he was the founder and president of his school’s tabletop gaming club. Steve’s main interests are in the areas of microbiology and molecular biology, however, when the chance to work in Galena presented itself, it was just too exciting of an opportunity to pass up – especially since he was able to come up with his girlfriend of over three years, Sarah Bonin, who is also working as a Resident Advisor.
