Susan Knudsen – Resident Advisor

Susan Knudsen, originally from a suburb of Chicago, spent 4 years in Northfield, Minnesota earning a bachelors degree in Sociology/Anthropology.  After a year in Galena as an RA in the dorm, she is now the Programming Coordinator responsible for scheduling students’ evenings and helping them find fun—like batting around a beach ball in her office (some students find this fun… Sue sometimes finds this ridiculous, especially when the ball hits her on the head when she’s trying to type her bio).

Sue’s two parents, Randy and Polly, live outside Chicago.  Her father is a retired high school English teacher and her mother is still going strong as a high school counselor.  Her sister Kerry, the oldest of 4, lives outside of Chicago with her husband Scott and Sue’s two adorable nephews, Avery and Toby.  Kerry and Scott are both high school teachers.  Andrew, her oldest brother, lives in Appleton, Wisconsin with his wife Jen where he teaches Geology at Lawrence University. Brian, her other brother, lives in New York City where he is working on his masters at Columbia while teaching.  Often, this posse of people gives Sue a hard time for not teaching.  She likes to remind them that she doesn’t have to grade papers every night.
