Cosmetology
Students in the cosmetology program work towards a license to practice cosmetology in the state of Alaska. The student has to complete 1,650 hours of education in the program to obtain the license. In addition, students can work towards certifying themselves in the fields of skin care, manicure, barbering, and hairstyling.
Students come to learn all about the varied lessons on hair care: everything from shampooing, cutting, coloring, and conditioning damaged hair. Students also learn about nail care and beautification, including manicures and pedicures.
GILA Cosmetology is a very popular program. The GILA cosmetology school is under the direction of Jenna Lee.
