Welding
The small engine and welding classes are taught by Todd Brown. Originally from Hemmett, Idaho, Mr. Brown has been a teacher in Galena for 11 years.
Students are offered coursework in welding, small engine repair, and electricity and electronics. Student projects include an 18-foot aluminum boat, a 16-foot aluminum boat, aluminum trailers, wood splitters, and tank stands. The students also repair items as diverse as rototillers and lawn mowers to snow machines.
In the near future, students will be able to earn certification from the National Center for Construction Education and Research and certification for core welding skills.
